Spring Tides again.

Threatening storm clouds!
Looking westwards towards the revetment following the high tides over the weekend.
The tree now washed away!
Under 10 metres to some of the bungalows!

Early morning update on beach erosion.

I was concerned about the future of the tree near the Fourth Groyne and whilst attempts were made to save it, unfortunately it recently went 'over the edge'....lost for ever.
Recent erosion following the high Spring tides during first week of April .

A closer view

Total collapse.

Looking westwards at the build up of shingle in the middle of the channel.

Sunrise on Pagham Beach.

For those of the beach dwellers who were not out of bed at 6.30 this morning this is what you missed!
An impressive sun rise!

At last!

A protective fence being erected along the length of the beach from the revetment to the posts at the end of the run. It is not 'pretty' but it is blue and fairly inconspicuous against the incoming water.
During the week a number of children have being getting dangerously close to the cliff especially at high tide...and hopefully it will prevent visitors from seeing how much shingle they can kick over the edge with their feet....we have got pretty little remaining so hopefully this will prevent too much more being wilfully destroyed.

High tides.

With the high Spring tides of the past few days more shingle has disappeared and the tree by the fourth Groyne has just about 'had it'!...a great shame.

Looking eastwards

Looking westwards
and another high tide comes rolling in..........
...with considerable force!
