A big (6.1m) high tide today.

I looked out at 6.35 this morning and the sun was just rising above the horizon. I was aware that there had been some recent solar activity and was able to make out the sun spots..the one on the left hand side is 2158 and produced a strong solar flare yesterday. The other group to the right is 2157 and new spot growth has recently been observed. An interesting site can be found at www.solarham giving details of solar flares and much more.

The sun at 6.35a.m.

As I looked the other way the moon was looking fabulous as it was setting in the west....not quite a full moon...that was Monday Sept 8.

Fortunately the weather was kind, with little wind but the water was lapping sufficiently close to remove a little more shingle and continues to cause considerable concern!
